******** Afternoon meeting***** Afternoon meeting**************************

Dear I2EC/IEG members,

This letter is to notify you that our coming monthly meeting will be held at Tysons Pimmit Regional Library on December 19 2009, Saturday from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Lennie Ding, our long time member and past speaker will provide us a talk on “Understand the Foreign Exchange Trading”.

He will help us first, understand what Foreign Exchange (forex, FX, or currency) Trading is and next, how to get into a currency trading.  There are many basic concepts and terms he likes us to get familiarized through Internet search (said, Investopedia) prior to the seminar.

Included in his talk are three parts:

A)  Basic Concepts of Forex/Currency Trading:

Currency pairs, base/quote currencies, Crosses, PIPs (price interest point), Margins as ‘good faith deposits’, Buy=long and Sell=short, Interest Spread, Std. Lot size, 100x leverage, Mini account.  And, 50x Leverage for a 2% Account to get paid interest.

B)  Potential winding down of the current USD Carry Trade and its implications/effects on the US Equity Markets  ( weak dollar–strong commodities/gold–stronger Equities  ; and the reverse relationship,  stronger dollar–weaker commodities/gold–weaker US Equity Markets ).

C)  Forex/FX as a special case of Pairs Trading:  what it is and how it relates to Hedge Fund’s Long-Short Strategy;  can we apply this in the retail Equity Market situations ?

As usual, the hot stocks pick will be discussed at the end as well.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Mike
